[What's next, actual manners?
Leonard doesn't bother getting up, he's taking apart his gun for no reason and he doesn't want to break concentration. Besides, moving hurts.]
Come in, genius.

Come in, genius.
He's not going to hurt anyone. For now.
[There's no need to explain who that 'he' is. Couldn't be more blatantly obvious. His movements are practised, but they still give an excuse not to look at Ray.]
You're his partner?

You're his partner?
Then he needs you.
[There's necessity for him too, but a more decorative punching bag would do for now. He has to think about possibilities.]
He doesn't need to know.

He doesn't need to know.
If he leaves and comes back as Chronos--
[He's quiet for a moment and pretends that it is because he's working at a tricky part. So he leans in closer and tries not to let his thoughts linger on Mick looking at him with a stranger's hateful eyes for the first time.]
If he's focused on me, we can keep it contained.
[There's Ray's precious 'we'.]

[What is he going to do, explain his reasoning? Explain that Mick's anger is Chronos' anger and he understands anything Mick. If his anger's still immediate, he won't step back to seek out other targets and be tactical about his revenge, he'll want him to know upfront. Like last time.
But there's more than that reasoning. There's always more.]
Would you rather tell him?
But there's more than that reasoning. There's always more.]
Would you rather tell him?
[This is frustrating in an entirely different way, but it's nothing he can blame on Ray. He's taken charge of the agenda, which means that now he has to fill the roles. A plan is made and maybe this time there won't be a mistake.
His face hurts, his whole body hurts and he can't believe, he still can't believe, that this is what he has to go through twice.]
What do you think? You're the one who knows how things turn out.

Asking you a damn question.
[Does he have to clarify that? Explain that? Of course he does. Leonard finally turns around, lifting one leg up to prop it on the seat and gingerly touching his face with one hand, finger following the outline of a bruise.]
I always thought I'm the only one who can handle Mick. But I failed him. Chronos is on me. It's all on me. And when you're from, I'm gone. So, you wanna be his partner now?
What do you think?

Next time you want to be a team, maybe listen when I tell you to wait and think first and then don't walk out when I'm trying to discuss things.
[What?
He's just saying.]

time for presents, ray. but on the 27th because SHE NEEDED TO SLEEP
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
[ This is a question she probably should have asked. Does Ray celebrate Christmas? Hanukkah? Neither? She has no idea but this whole event and the things happening with Ray specifically and the people showing up (and getting punched in the face) make her want to do something for him either way. He has a tiny room, so everything is left outside of it, the wrapped presents stacked to form a little mini-Christmas tree. And they're silly. Oh, how they're silly and fun, she hopes. With his interests in mind she's thought up for him:
A book of cocktail recipes because the day he came back to Wonderland and invited her for drinks was about the time she knew she didn't just like him.
Footloose, Flashdance, Save the Last Dance and Dirty Dancing. There's a theme, because when they dance they just fit together and the movies are supposed to be symbolic or...something. (Wow, Sarah is a cornball.)
A Schrodinger's Cat piece of art because science! Hilarious!
This shirt because he may be a smart ass but he's her smart ass.
Sarah leaves it all, then sends him a text once she's back at her place. ]
Merry Christmas if you celebrate it, or happy Hanukkah, or happy 'we survived an event and should celebrate with presents' day. Whatever the reason for the season, check outside your door.

[ As much as Darcy might've liked to get everything out in time, Wonderland had a weird way of screwing up her plans. So, after a solid day's sleep, she starts making her rounds - dropping off gifts on each floor while using a little red wagon. In front of Ray's door, he'll find a basket that contains:
• a blanket
• a festive mug
• a few different flavors of tea
• honey
• another mug of hot chocolate supplies with a note to just add hot milk
• a chocolate dipped stirring spoon
• ridiculous fuzzy socks
• a tiny stuffed animal
• assorted candy
• and an ornament
There's a note dangling from one of the handles that, while it doesn't say much, should be enough of an indication that she might be ready to pick things back up on that friendship train:

Raymond,
Happy Hanukkah.

With it are three presents, namely
- a book with the well known title Don Quixote
- a lock-picking kit
- and a tiny transformers toy with an extra card (more than meets the eye or someone your size to pick on)]

[ So Kurt is well aware that he's been kind of shitty about his sister dating, and he's since made amends for his behavior with Sarah but he hasn't done much to get to know Ray at all. That needs to change. So he sends off a text late one morning shortly after the holidays. ]
Hey. I think we're about due for a family dinner. If you're up for it. You can come over with Sarah, I'll cook.
